Vogue is the world’s most famous fashion magazine.
Vogue features editorial, visual, and artistic contributions to culture and fashion journalism. It has held the attention of millions of women for more than 100 years; documenting the evolution in fashion and the how women wear clothes and interpret beauty. The changes in fashion included new styles, social behaviours, pastimes, and customs.
Vogue has featured many famous women throughout history. The first models were the wives of the designers, showing off their husband’s garments to buyers. In 1920, professional modeling began.
Vogue is also actively involved in fundraising for AIDS research. In 1990 and 1995, Vogue put on a very desirable sample sale called “Seventh on Sale”. The event raised more than $11 million.
Talented photographers, editors, publishers, designers, photographers, models, and fashion historians have all contributed to the success of this prestigious magazine.
Vogue is actively selecting people who personify a role model; an attribute of the magazine that I truly appreciate. Women around the world are continually looking for positive female influences.
A big motive for me entering the Miss Teen Canada – World pageant is so that I can be a role model for young women. Just like I was inspired by the women of achievement in Vogue, I want to inspire young women and teens everywhere to represent themselves with the highest of standards.
