Had an amazing day today at the bowmanville zoo with the most amazing pageant girls! We had a blast meeting the baby tiger and lion we then met the cutest little lemur. We then went to the Eaton centre for lunch where we ate at the Richtree taco truck. As all of us pageant girls were standing in line to order our food we had people waving and taking pictures of and with us, it was very cool because I’ve never had so many people want pictures with me before so I had a lot of fun doing that and meeting new people. At the taco truck I ordered the fish burrito! It was one of the best fish burrito I’ve ever had, I would definitely go back for one of them again. The toco truck was so cute! You ordered at the front of the truck and within minutes you got your order right out the back. Everyone that worked there were so nice they would smile and take pictures with us. Thanks you Richtree Toco truck for supplying all of the miss teenage canada delegates with lunch we all enjoyed it very much! Can not wait to see what the rest of the week brings.

My platform is human trafficking I picked human trafficking because I’ve always been interested in helping stop this and cause awareness. In school I was in a group that help cause Awareness of the issue and we wrote letters to the Supreme Court of canada trying to make a change.

If one person from Saskatoon can write a letter to the Supreme Court to make a difference and stop human trafficking, as miss canada I could reach out to more girls and people to help cause awareness, If more people want to stop human trafficking and change the way woman are treated then maybe we can actually stop human trafficking.

Hello everyone! My name is Brooklyn, and I am 15 years old. when I found out I was one of the finalists for Miss Saskatoon had so many emotions going through me! On one hand, I was so excited and freaking out that I actually got picked! However, on the other hand I was terrified because I have always had a fear of talking in front of people. But honestly,it was so worth it! Going on stage and having the opportunity to experience everything was so amazing! I am so happy that I over came the fear and just did it because if I hadn’t I wouldn’t be having some of the great experiences I have had. I love to travel and meet new people, being Miss Saskatoon has opened doors for me to be able to do this and I’m so thankful! When I get older I would love to travel to Africa and help build wells for people so they have clean drinking water. My ambition is to become a paediatrician because I love children and I love helping people! They can always brighten my day. In my free time I enjoy mudding, playing sports and fishing. I have three siblings, 1 brother and 2 sisters and 4 loving parents. I love to cook and spend time with family and friends! I cannot wait to start this amazing journey and share all my experiences with all of you. Thank you all for stopping by and reading my blog! I really appreciate it!

My name is Sasha Shogga. I’m originally from West Bay, Ontario, but reside in Saskatoon S.K. and have for the past seven years. I’m currently enrolled at Nutana Collegiate In Saskatoon and will be graduating next year.

I’m interested in modelling, photography, swimming, acting, yoga, and cooking. I absolutely love animals. I have a dog named Little Bear who’s a golden retriever and loves to swim so, in our free time we go to the beach! I also have a new puppy named Kash, a cat named Milo, and a fish named Fred. I love them with all my heart. I think that all animals should be treated with respect and lots of TLC (tender, loving, care). I’ve always wanted to work with wildlife and domestic animals. I volunteer my time at the local SPCA to take the dogs for walks. I started modeling when I was about 14 years old and since then its always been a passion of mine. I’ve always loved swimming. I have achieved my levels 1-10, my Bronze Medallion and First-Aid. I will be pursuing to get my Bronze Cross to become a lifeguard. I love cooking and always have since I was little. My favourite meal is maple glazed salmon with greek salad. Mmm! I love Seafood.

My reason for joining this pageant is because I want to make a difference in people’s lives. My platform is drug & alcohol awareness.  My brother Shawn passed away of a drug overdose and my mother got into a motor vehicle accident due to a drunk driver and suffered major injuries. My brother had two sons and they are now left without a father. Drugs and alcohol affect so many lives everyday. Seeing my mother, nephews friends of my brothers and myself go through the grief and pain of no longer having my brother on this earth with us was and still is an unexplainable feeling. It has made a major impact on my life. It has made me a stronger person. I want to speak out to teenagers about the history of my life and let them know drugs and alcohol can kill or severely injure a person. It also not only hurts the victims life but, other people. Example are, family, friends and even strangers.

Secondly, I want people to be aware of cancer. My grandmother, uncle and auntie were all affected by cancer. My grandmother passed away this year. My auntie is doing well after chemotherapy. My uncle is in palliative care. It has been a rough 2 years in my life but, I managed to stay strong and get through it all with the help of family and friends.

Thanks to the sponsors Shasha Bread Co, for their wonderful healthy snacks and to the Internet marketing firm PageOne for helping with all the personal blogs for the Miss Teen Canada Pageant.

Last but, not least. I’m a strong unique individual. I want to show everyone in this world that they are all their own kind of beautiful. Beautiful in there heart, mind, and soul. I was taught in my traditional native culture that beauty is also caring, thoughtful, loving, kind, and respectful. I follow my native culture to stay grounded.
