Had an amazing day today at the bowmanville zoo with the most amazing pageant girls! We had a blast meeting the baby tiger and lion we then met the cutest little lemur. We then went to the Eaton centre for lunch where we ate at the Richtree taco truck. As all of us pageant girls were standing in line to order our food we had people waving and taking pictures of and with us, it was very cool because I’ve never had so many people want pictures with me before so I had a lot of fun doing that and meeting new people. At the taco truck I ordered the fish burrito! It was one of the best fish burrito I’ve ever had, I would definitely go back for one of them again. The toco truck was so cute! You ordered at the front of the truck and within minutes you got your order right out the back. Everyone that worked there were so nice they would smile and take pictures with us. Thanks you Richtree Toco truck for supplying all of the miss teenage canada delegates with lunch we all enjoyed it very much! Can not wait to see what the rest of the week brings.

My platform is human trafficking I picked human trafficking because I’ve always been interested in helping stop this and cause awareness. In school I was in a group that help cause Awareness of the issue and we wrote letters to the Supreme Court of canada trying to make a change.

If one person from Saskatoon can write a letter to the Supreme Court to make a difference and stop human trafficking, as miss canada I could reach out to more girls and people to help cause awareness, If more people want to stop human trafficking and change the way woman are treated then maybe we can actually stop human trafficking.

Hello everyone! My name is Brooklyn, and I am 15 years old. when I found out I was one of the finalists for Miss Saskatoon had so many emotions going through me! On one hand, I was so excited and freaking out that I actually got picked! However, on the other hand I was terrified because I have always had a fear of talking in front of people. But honestly,it was so worth it! Going on stage and having the opportunity to experience everything was so amazing! I am so happy that I over came the fear and just did it because if I hadn’t I wouldn’t be having some of the great experiences I have had. I love to travel and meet new people, being Miss Saskatoon has opened doors for me to be able to do this and I’m so thankful! When I get older I would love to travel to Africa and help build wells for people so they have clean drinking water. My ambition is to become a paediatrician because I love children and I love helping people! They can always brighten my day. In my free time I enjoy mudding, playing sports and fishing. I have three siblings, 1 brother and 2 sisters and 4 loving parents. I love to cook and spend time with family and friends! I cannot wait to start this amazing journey and share all my experiences with all of you. Thank you all for stopping by and reading my blog! I really appreciate it!

The red dresses worn by the celebrity models were auctioned off at the end of the night.

Interview with Aleem Arif

What were your inspirations for Bano eeMee’s fall 2012 collection?
A lot of my inspiration comes from the places I have traveled to and the people I have met. I wanted to create pieces that were wearable but edgy and fashion forward. All Bano eeMee products are crafted with love from pattern drafting to the final stitch on the garment and this attention to detail manifests itself in the choice of materials and concentration on minute details such as use of vintage buttons and woven silk lining.

Congratulations on showcasing your designs at premier fashion events throughout Western Canada. What’s next for Bano eeMee?
I have my sights set on Montreal and Toronto to help draw attention to the rapidly growing fashion scene in Western Canada. I feel that Canadian fashion has tremendous potential and I want to represent that through my professionalism, hard work and creativity.

Most memorable moment in your fashion career thus far?
When my parents watched the live stream of my Vancouver Fashion Week show in New York and called me right after to tell me that I should never give up my dreams.

Any advice to aspiring fashion designers and those interesting in entering the fashion industry?
I was an aspiring designer little over a year ago. Patience, tenacity and focus can help you achieve anything. I still have long ways to go to deserve the label of a fashion designer but I am working my way towards that goal little by little each day.

Anything else you’d like to share?
I would like to thank all my friends and well wishers in the local fashion industry who have been a constant source of encouragement and have told me to work hard and dream big. I am very grateful to be a part of this creative industry.

Event coordinators, Sophia Models, volunteers, hair stylists, and makeup artists made the charity event a success. Everyone worked to support The Heart and Stroke Foundation; together creating a fantastic evening.

Positive messages dominated the event.

Tova Dybvig – Health Reasearch Coordinator at The Heart and Stroke Foundation
“Amazing foundation where everyone is so positive and wants to work towards a cause.”

Binzento – Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger
“It’s important to support local designers; meet and greet outside your regular fashion district.”
