Every summer, since I was 7 years old, I have spent time with my best friend Danielle Pinder and her family at Waskesiu Lake. Waskesiu is a beautiful, located in Prince Albert National Park, Saskatchewan.
We spend our time boating; waterskiing, wakeboarding, tubing, and kneeboarding. Danielle is very good water-skier; dropping a ski when she was only 9 years old. I appreciated having had my best friend teach me these skills. Water sports are a great way to stay cool and active during the summer.
We also spend a lot of time at the Waskesiu Golf Course; both practicing and playing recreationally as well as in tournaments. Every summer there is a tournament called the Junior Lobstick which Danielle and I have both competed in numerous times. We took turns winning the tournament; Danielle in 2009 and I in 2010. Elk Ridge Resort is also very close by and also a great place to golf.
Waskesiu is a beautiful place to spend your summer. From the wildlife to the delicious cinnamon buns you get from the bakery; there is never a shortage of things to do. I would recommend visiting Waskesiu and experiencing all the activities the park has to offer.
I have had some great memories here, and am looking forward to future visits.
