Hi Everyone. My name is Danica Cox. I am currently attending the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan, where I plan to major in Marketing.
I am active sports ambassador, having represented the province of Saskatchewan both locally and provincially at numerous basketball games and golf tournaments. I am thankful for the opportunity to be involved in organized sports and realize the benefits that arise from it. In an effort to give back, I spend time officiating and coaching basketball at various levels hoping to teach positive life habits and social skills. I coached an U14 provincial girls basketball team in 2011, which won bronze at provincials. I am currently coaching a U13 Basketball Saskatchewan girl’s team and will be competing in a tournament in Regina. As an athlete and coach, I learned the importance of teamwork, communication, leadership and working towards a common goal.
I also spend time volunteering in the community and am passionate about youth entrepreneurship and financial literacy and have started my own on-line business.
This is my first pageant experience and I am excited to be part of an event that challenges you to realize your potential by taking an active part in the community as well as raise money for the official pageant charity, Free the Children.
My first post is sponsored by a Toronto roof leak fix and repair company.
My pageant platform deals with depression. I want to remove the social stigmatism associated with depression by raising awareness of the magnitude of depression and the effect is has on people in our society.
I am excited to begin my journey as Miss Teen Saskatoon – World and the opportunity to share this experience with competitors from across the country!
